Introduction
KECSKEMET FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE
The Kecskemét Folk Dance Ensemble was established in 1976. Its sponsor is the Hiros Agora Culture and Youth Center.
The dancers (children, youth and adults) total 300 in 14 groups. They have been learning the basics of folk dance since 1999 in the world-famous Zoltan Kodaly Art School of Kecskemet.
The ensemble has won numerous professional and social awards and has made guest appearances and has displayed the traditional dances in numerous foreign countries.
They received the „Special Award” from between 27 countries in the world’s largest folk art festival which was held in Istanbul in 2018.
